Privacy Policy

• Anonymous app identifierGeoParty creates an anonymous identifier so the same player seat can be restored after a temporary disconnect or normal relaunch. The app does not ask for an email, password, or social sign-in.
• Player identityYour chosen display name and bundled avatar are stored on your device and sent to private rooms that you create or join. They are not placed in a public directory.
• Profile photosIf you take or select a profile photo, GeoParty saves a reduced copy locally on your device after you tap Save Identity. The saved copy contains image pixels without the original photo metadata. Profile photos are not uploaded to our servers or shared with other players. Other players continue to see your bundled avatar. The photo remains until you replace or remove it and save your identity, delete your player account, or delete the app and its data. Device backups managed by your operating system may include app data.
• Room and match dataPrivate room codes, membership, ready and connection state, answers, timing, scores, standings, and rematch state are processed to run the game consistently for all players.
• Support requestsIf you use the public Support Form, the topic, message, optional contact details, and basic browser request details are stored for later review.

Information is used only to authenticate the app session, create and join private rooms, validate answers and scoring, show match state to room members, personalize your avatar on your device, restore an interrupted session, prevent misuse, resolve technical problems, and review support requests.

Rooms are private and accessible by their six-character code. Lobby codes expire after inactivity, and finished rooms remain available briefly for rematches. Expired rooms, answers, transient display names, and presence records are removed through automated cleanup. If you delete your player account while you have an active room seat, GeoParty first marks that seat as left. Data already needed to finish that short-lived room or match remains only until the room’s normal automated cleanup.

GeoParty offers optional camera access to take a profile picture and a system photo picker to choose one from your library. These actions start only when you choose Take Photo or Choose from Library. The app does not request full photo metadata or scan your photo library. You can cancel, decline access, or keep using a bundled avatar. Camera and photo permissions can be managed in iOS Settings. GeoParty does not request access to contacts, location, or microphone. The app does not include advertising, subscriptions, purchases, third-party analytics, attribution, or cross-app tracking. Personal information is not sold or shared for advertising.

Room data is shared with the other players in that private room as needed to show names, bundled avatars, readiness, connection status, answers after reveal, scores, and standings. Service providers may process the limited data required to host, secure, and operate the app. Information may also be preserved or disclosed when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate misuse, or comply with applicable law.

You can change your display name and avatar in the app. To remove a saved profile photo, open Settings, select your player identity, tap Remove Photo, and then Save Identity. Choosing a bundled avatar and saving also removes the saved photo; replacing a photo replaces the previous saved copy. This does not delete the original image from your photo library.

To permanently delete your player account, open Settings, choose Delete Player Account, and confirm. GeoParty deletes the anonymous account identifier, its active session, personal block and report settings, reports submitted by or about that player, and local app data including the display name, avatar, saved profile photo, onboarding state, EULA acceptance, and Solo Challenge best score. The app then returns to its initial consent screen. Account deletion cannot be undone.

Support Form submissions are separate from the anonymous player account and are not automatically deleted with it. For a privacy question or a request concerning a support submission, use the Support Form and include enough non-sensitive detail to identify the request.

GeoParty uses access controls and server-side validation intended to limit room data to participants and to keep scoring consistent. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so please do not place sensitive personal information in a display name, room, or support request.

GeoParty is intended for players age 12 and older. If local law requires a parent or guardian to approve the use of an online service or the submission of personal information, that approval is required. Younger users should not include optional contact details or other personal information in a support request without parent or guardian involvement.

This policy may be updated when GeoParty changes. The effective date at the top of the page identifies the current version.
